MEET THE OWNER
Clayton Thompson
I started Barks and Recreation because of my dog Frannie. Watching her grow from a nervous rescue into a confident therapy dog taught me more about trust and communication than any manual could.
I tell every new client: training the dog is the easy part. The real work is helping owners understand their dog and build a relationship worth having. That’s where I come in. I hold an AKC Evaluator certification and have been an active registered therapy do team with Frannie for years, volunteering in the Billings community.
Every animal that comes through Barks and Rec gets treated as an individual. I work with the dog in front of me and build a relationship from there.
Meet the Dogs
Barks and Recreation wouldn't be the same without my two dogs, who consider themselves my business partners. While their skills mostly involve napping and demanding snacks, they've made me an expert in all things dog-related. I should introduce the dogs that started it all—without them, this company might not exist.
Frannie
The big-eared leader of the pack and a top-notch therapy dog who brightens lives wherever she goes.

He is such a sweet boy who would roll over and show his belly for just about anyone.
